Microsoft Releases CRM5 Technical Preview

Redmond – – Microsoft Corp. today announced the Community Technical Preview 3 (CTP3) for the next generation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, code-named "CRM5". This CTP is primarily aimed at software developers within the broad partner base of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, including independent software vendors (ISVs), global system integrators (GSIs), hosting partners and value-added resellers (VARs), giving them an opportunity to start early development and testing of their solutions for this new release.

The CTP software is available as on-premises software, as well as through pre-release versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online running in datacenters in North America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Asia Pacific (APAC). The availability in international datacenters is in preparation for the global expansion of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online service beyond the U.S. and Canada today and into EMEA, APAC and Latin America.

FifthCloud's Dynamics CRM unit, CRM OnTarget, has been a CTP Partner with Microsoft since 2009 on the CRM5 platform and is a CTP3 partner today. The company remains optimistic that the release timeframe of late 2010 appears to be right on schedule. Mike Berger, CRM OnTarget General Manager, recently said, "...never have I seen such an investment in time, money, and talent. CRM5 will be a significant step forward for the platform and for our customers."

Las Vegas – – FifthCloud announced today that it has closed on a deal that will make CRM OnTarget, a worldwide leader in providing partner hosted Microsoft Dynamics CRM, a FifthCloud brand. The companies have been in talks since late 2009 and according to FifthCloud CEO Jim Stewart, "the more we explored this opportunity, the more everyone felt it was a move that provides significant value to customers of both companies and it was an ideal fit."

"Late last year we confirmed our commitment to act boldly and this acquisition reflects that; the end result will be greater than the sum of its parts" said Mr. Stewart.

The SecuriCloud Backup module meets military specifications for encryption by employing 256-bit AES security. Data is encrypted in both transit and storage and leverages mirrored data centers to provide absolute peace of mind.

FifthCloud Opens Bay Area Office

Las Vegas – – FifthCloud said today that it has opened a new office in the Bay Area. Located in Tiburon, just outside of San Francisco, the office will serve as a business development hub. The company continues to grow in a tough economic environment because it "agile in its ability to respond to market conditions quickly, adapt to the new realities of the business landscape, and innovate to remain relevant to our customers," according to Jim Stewart, FifthCloud's CEO.

FifthCloud Shifts Gear in Partnership with Lenovo

Las Vegas – – FifthCloud said today it had renewed its partnership with Lenovo and would take the additional step of consolidating all field computers with Lenovo ThinkPad computers. The company has historically maintained relationships with DELL and HP but felt that "Lenovo represented the best value in the market for business notebook computers and its vPro technology streamlines support operations for MSPs like FifthCloud" said Jim Stewart, FifthCLoud's managing partner.

FifthCloud retires end user computers every 24 months but will expedite that schedule for many users who are not running current ThinkPad computers with the i5 or i7 processor with vPro built in. Lenovo's vPro technology extends what services can be provided to the user's hardware without an actual office visit. With vPro and ThinkPad, engineers can boot and take control of a computer even if the hard drive has been destroyed. Other ThinkPad features helped close the deal for Lenovo with FifthCloud, including the ability to disable a computer that has been reported lost or stolen.

Microsoft Office 2010 represents a significant step forward in the Office suite, including a full 64-bit version that is expected to "sing nicely" according to FifthCloud engineers who started shipping 64-bit notebooks to customers in Q3.

The Company also issued a warning; while the Office 2010 suite appears stable and fully functional, it will take other divisions of Microsoft and ISV partners several months to catch up. As one FifthCloud engineer put it, "don't expect everything to work while the applications are still in beta."
